The Eastern Nairobi Water and Sewer Improvement Project is an initiative which involves improving access to clean water and sanitation by laying new water distribution networks and sewer line along installing household connections.

It is expected to be a game changer for residents of Embakasi, Maili Saba, Utawala, Mihango, Ruai, Ngundu, Umoja, Tassia, Kariobangi and parts of Kamulu in improving access to clean water and dignified sanitation.

The project has a water component that involves laying 220 km of water distribution networks to underserved areas and over 1,900 household water meter connections, while the sewerage component involves laying 47 km of sewer networks and more than 1,400 household sewer connections.
