Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja has mourned Kariobangi North MCA Joel Munuve, who died on Tuesday morning.

Sakaja said he received the news of Munuve’s death with profound sorrow and a heavy heart.

“Munuve was a dedicated and passionate servant of the people a leader who carried the hopes and aspirations of his constituents with unwavering commitment. His voice in the Nairobi City County Assembly was firm and always grounded in the pursuit of better service delivery and dignity for the residents of Kariobangi North,” he stated.

In his message of condolences, Sakaja said the county is mourning the loss of a community champion, and a man who believed in the vision of a working Nairobi.

“His absence will be deeply felt at the Assembly and in the hearts of all who knew and worked with him,” he stated.

Sakaja extended his deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Kariobangi North during this difficult time.

Munuve has also been mourned by President William Ruto, who described him as a bold and enterprising leader who served the people of Kariobangi North with dedication.

Ruto praised Munuve’s leadership style and the impact he had on his constituents.

“Mheshimiwa Joel Munuve was a bold, vocal and enterprising leader who served the people of Kariobangi North with focus and dedication,” said the President.

Ruto described Munuve as a progressive leader with innovative ideas.

“He was hardworking, progressive and with fresh ideas that changed the lives of many people,” he said.

The Head of State also extended his condolences to Munuve’s family, the people of Kariobangi North and members of the Nairobi County Assembly.

“We pray for the family, the people of Kariobangi North and the Nairobi County Assembly at this moment,” Ruto said.

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was also among the first to express his condolences.

According to reports, Munuve passed away while receiving treatment at a hospital in Kiambu.
