President William Ruto has assured Kenyans that the Kenyatta Avenue–Ngong Road Viaduct at All Saints Cathedral will be completed before December, promising the project will significantly ease traffic congestion in Nairobi.
Speaking on Monday during an inspection of ongoing road infrastructure projects in the capital, the President said the viaduct is progressing as planned and remains on course for completion before the end of the year.
"The Kenyatta Avenue–Ngong Road Viaduct at All Saints Cathedral will be complete before December," Ruto said.

According to the Director for Roads Planning and Design at Kenya Urban Roads Authority, Engineer Wilfred Oginga, a viaduct is a road that is elevated and supported above the ground, typically using pillars. Elevating the road, it prevents direct interaction between local and through traffic.
This design allows one road to run above and another below at ground level, effectively eliminating traffic conflicts.
He described the project as a key component of the government's wider plan to transform Nairobi's road network and tackle the persistent traffic gridlock that affects thousands of motorists and commuters every day.

Ruto reiterated that his administration remains committed to delivering infrastructure projects within the promised timelines, saying modern road networks are essential for economic growth and improving the quality of life for Kenyans.
Looking beyond the viaduct, the President said residents should expect major changes in the city over the coming months.
"By December, Nairobi will be different," he said, adding that the government is investing heavily in roads, street lighting and other infrastructure to modernise the capital.
He noted that the All Saints Viaduct is one of several flagship road projects aimed at improving connectivity across Nairobi and decongesting one of the city's busiest traffic corridors.
The inspection formed part of the President's tour of ongoing development projects in Nairobi, where he reaffirmed the government's commitment to completing infrastructure projects that improve transport efficiency and support economic development.
Once complete, the Kenyatta Avenue–Ngong Road Viaduct is expected to benefit thousands of motorists who use the route daily by easing congestion around the busy All Saints Cathedral junction as part of the government's broader agenda to modernise Nairobi's transport infrastructure.
