Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Dr Raymond Omollo on Friday presided over the official opening of the Emuhaya Sub-County Headquarters at Hobuyaya in Emuhaya Constituency, Vihiga County.
Omollo said the government is continuing to operationalise gazetted administrative units to strengthen governance and bring public services closer to the people.
He said the new headquarters will enhance administrative efficiency, improve security coordination and response, while fostering closer engagement between the government and local communities.

Earlier, Omollo held a consultative meeting with National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs), including Assistant County Commissioners and chiefs from Emuhaya and Luanda sub-counties, to review key administrative and security matters affecting the region.
The meeting assessed service delivery, strengthened coordination within the national administration framework and discussed strategies for enhancing security, governance and the effective implementation of government programmes at the grassroots level.
Omollo also attended a security briefing with national government administrators, security agencies and local leaders.

The briefing focused on the prevailing security situation in the area, ongoing efforts to combat crime and measures being implemented to enhance the safety and security of residents.
The opening of the new headquarters is part of the government's efforts to strengthen administrative structures and improve access to public services through operationalisation of gazetted administrative units.
The facility is also expected to improve coordination among government agencies and enhance engagement with local communities.
