A FORMER GOVERNOR and a sitting deputy governor have teamed up to allegedly “finish” the current county boss. Interestingly, the former governor endorsed the current governor during the 2022 campaigns and his backing solidified his successor’s victory. However, word has it that they do not see eye-to-eye over county tenders. An insider said the ex-governor is now allegedly using the deputy governor to isolate and fight his friend-turned-foe. It remains to be seen if the former county boss will endorse the ambitious deputy governor in return.

THE ENTRY OF a youthful businessman in the 2027 parliamentary contest has allegedly sent shivers down the spine of the incumbent MP. A little bird told Corridors the candidature of the youth could deal a major blow to the MP’s voting bloc. The youth is from a ward near the lawmaker’s home and is known to be a down-to- earth fellow who has always stood with the people. The MP has reportedly tried to reach out to the new entrant to drop his bid, in vain, so far.

A POLITICAL PARTY is said to be considering expelling one of its MPs for allegedly making utterances seen to derail the outfit’s 2027 presidential goals. The lawmaker has defended himself saying he was merely playing to the public gallery and that the remarks were meant for the consumption of the domestic audience in the party’s stronghold. However, top officials are said to be concerned that the statements have created anxiety that the MP’s remarks represent the views of the party leader.

A FORMER GOVERNOR in one of the hardship regions is slowly and tactically making a comeback in the county’s politics. The ex-governor has supposedly been visiting residents in wards that did not support him to “thank” them for the few votes he got from them. To rebrand himself, the former county boss has also been reportedly quietly asking for forgiveness from those he wronged and stating he has forgiven those who may have wronged him. To scale up his presence in the county, his voice has been regular on local community radio stations.
