STILL IN THE region, an MP worried of apparent defeat in the 2027 election is going after heads of schools whose institutions host his opponents. The lawmaker has been threatening to cause the transfer of the school principals, accusing them of giving his political enemies platforms to criticise his tenure in office as they popularise their bids. Education stakeholders have asked the man to allow public institutions in his area to run independently.

AN INSTITUTION OF higher learning is staring at mass resignations over unaddressed grievances. Dozens of employees have reportedly already left, signalling an exodus of talents and skills. The official in charge is accused of consolidating power by bypassing established hiring protocols to place loyalists in key administrative roles. The favouritism is said to extend to scholarship distribution, with allegations that opportunities are reserved predominantly for select tribes, fostering resentment among staff and students.

A WOMAN REP came under heavy
criticism at a church service for demeaning other women leaders by claiming
that they were not “fat” enough to fit
in their skirts. The woman rep, who has
shown interest in the governor position,
has been having a hard time selling her
ambition owing to her loose tongue. Her
early campaigns have been reduced
to pure drama and whenever given an
opportunity to speak, she often makes
controversial remarks while consistently
floating the name of a top government
official.
