A SENIOR POLITICIAN has been left wondering who is
after him following an alleged attack by goons in parts of Eastleigh. The man
was reportedly overheard complaining he did not expect to be subjected to such
an experience. The politician was supposedly attacked during a political event
and lost his phone, among other valuables. He had left his car to speak at the
event before he was greeted by a group of youths who took his cash and
valuables. This was as others held his bodyguard hostage a few metres away.
Insiders say the man believes that attack was predetermined.
OFFICERS AT AN administrative station in Kisii county
are wondering who ordered the cutting of trees planted on the land where their
offices are. They allegedly accuse their boss of being behind the move for
personal gain. The juniors supposedly said the administrator ordered loggers to
bring down more than a dozen old and mature trees for timber and firewood,
which he allegedly sold for his use. The officers were overheard questioning
the procedure for disposing of the assets. They hope the Kenya Forest Service
and Harambee House will take note.
WHO IS BEHIND the hiring of goons to guard prime land
along Nyangumi Road and why? The land next to a prime hotel has been attracting
the attention of the powers that be. Fresh claims are abounding that a powerful
individual is reportedly behind the latest move. The authorities too supposedly
say their hands are tied because of the individuals who are said to be involved
in the impending takeover. The owners are crying that even with a court order
requiring the goons to leave the site, the security apparatus is doing little
to help. The helpless owners are left wondering who would come to their aid.
A LAWMAKER WAS left in shock after a call from a
senior politician who did not mince words about a matter her compatriots are
pursuing. While the MP reportedly expected the call to be kind, it ended up in
a reprimand. The lawmaker was supposedly asked to rally her colleagues to go
slow on the quest, which has put them at loggerheads with other state officers.
The man at the end of the line was reportedly clear that MPs should stick to
their oversight mandate and not meddle in the management of cash.
