Most reported crimes in Kenya

  • •The survey said that the number of cases filed in courts increased by 5.5 per cent in 2021 to 362,332.

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics has said that there was a 16.7 per cent increase in crime reported to the police.

According to the Economic Survey 2022 by KNBS, stealing was the most reported crime by 35.1 per cent, as Criminal damage and Dangerous drugs followed by 31.1 per cent and 28.3 per cent.

Theft of stock and theft by servants was reported at 26.2 and 22.6 per cent, while breaking, economic crimes, homicides and robbery stood at 17%, 14.8%, 5.5% and 3.0% respectively.
