SHIF: Top 5 counties by % population registered

The graphic presents the counties with the highest percentage of population registered with SHIF.

Nyeri County tops the list, achieving 20.5 per cent registration of its target population, followed closely by Kirinyaga at 20.3 per cent, Kiambu at 19.5 per cent, and both Lamu and Embu at 18.3 per cent.

These counties reflect higher healthcare awareness and accessibility, with significant portions of their populations already enrolled in the health insurance program.

SHIF was rolled out on October 1, 2024.
