More children are subjected to child labour in urban areas than rural areas, the Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 2019 says.
In a report released on the data of Women and Men in Kenya 2022, they found that working children, as of 2019, were of five to 17 years.
Between the ages of five and nine, the majority of working children exist in urban areas with boys being the most exploited.
Of girls between 10 to 14 years, 45 per cent worked in rural areas while 45 per cent worked in urban areas.
