Kenya is among the countries that have been receiving funds from the Global Fund to support the fight against malaria.
The Global Fund Results Report 2024, on the state of the malaria fight, shows that deaths increased from 10,000 in 2010 to 12,000 in 2022, despite significant improvements in key prevention and diagnostic initiatives.
The increase in deaths is linked to factors such as altitude, rainfall, and temperature, which expose about 75 percent of Kenya's population to the risk of malaria.
