Leaders drawn from the political, rights organisation and security sectors have spoken out against alleged abductions in the county.
Kenya's candidate for the AUC chairperson seat, Raila Odinga, asked the government to take responsibility and ensure all Kenyans who have been abducted are released.
In another statement on Thursday, the Judiciary insisted that the abductions are a direct threat to the rights of Kenyan citizens.
The arm of government said that Kenya is a country guided by the rule of law and the abductions must stop.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei also waded into the ongoing discussion about the rising cases of abduction in the country.
Cherargei said police should now explain to Kenyans who is behind the abductions now that the service has distanced itself from the criminal acts.
Expressing its concern over the worrying trend, KNCHR chairperson Roselyne Odede said they are closely monitoring the situation.
She raised fears that should this continue, "we shall be rapidly retrogressing back to the dark days of our history when such attacks were primarily to inflict fear on any person critical of the government."
