Home ownership: What tenants said on their plans

11.2 per cent were saving to construct a house, while 10.7 per cent were saving to buy land.

A report by KNBS shows that 62.6 per cent of tenants who wanted to own homes had not made plans towards home ownership.

However, 11.2 per cent were saving to construct a house, while 10.7 per cent were saving to buy land.

5.9 per cent purchased land/plat, 4.3 per cent were saving to buy a house.

52.2% of respondents preferred to rent because their dwellings were too far from work.
