Global electric vehicle (EV) sales surged to 17.1 million units in 2024, marking a 25 per cent increase from the previous year.
This growth was largely driven by China, which accounted for 11 million units sold, reflecting a staggering 40 per cent year-on-year increase.
The EU, EFTA, and UK regions experienced a 3 per cent decline.
The USA and Canada saw a modest 9 per cent growth with 1.8 million units sold, while the rest of the world reported a 27 per cent rise, reaching 1.3 million units.
