The United States remains the dominant driver of diaspora remittances to Kenya, outstripping all other global sources by a wide margin.

Joint data from the Central Bank of Kenya and the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics covering the 2024–2025 financial period reveals that the North American nation contributed over Sh400 billion to the country's economy.

This massive inflow underscores the economic strength of the Kenyan community residing in the US and its continued financial commitment back home.

Following the United States, Germany stands as the second-largest source of diaspora money.

Australia also features prominently in the top tier of remittance corridors, transferring close to Sh90 billion. These figures demonstrate that traditional Western economies continue to hold the largest share of Kenya's external financial support from its citizens abroad.

The Middle East and parts of Europe and Africa round out the major remittance sources, though at lower volumes. Saudi Arabia and Qatar contributed roughly 45 billion shillings each, solidifying the Gulf region's role as a vital employment and financial hub for Kenyans.

In Europe, Spain accounted for nearly Sh35 billion. Within the African continent, South Sudan emerged as a key contributor, yielding just under 35 billion shillings, closely matching the inflows received from the United Kingdom.
