Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has built his political career through law, party leadership and elective politics, serving as ODM Secretary-General from February 2018 until February 11, 2026.
A law graduate of the University of Nairobi and an advocate admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 2008, Sifuna previously served in advisory roles in the CORD and NASA coalitions between 2013 and 2016.
He unsuccessfully contested the Kanduyi ODM parliamentary primaries and the Nairobi Senate seat in 2017 before replacing Ababu Namwamba as ODM Secretary-General in 2018.
Sifuna later won the Nairobi Senate seat in the 2022 General Election with 716,876 votes.
According to the graphic, he has since been removed as ODM Secretary-General and stripped of his Senate leadership position, with reports indicating he has signalled an imminent exit from the party.
