Ugandan Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has defended his many posts on social media platform X, saying that it is part of his job.

In a statement responding to a user who had accused him of being unprofessional, Muhoozi said that by not posting, he would not be doing his job as President Yoweri Museveni’s Special Presidential Advisor in charge of Special Operations.

The user identified as Julius Friday had said, “overposting is also a sign of unprofessionalism”.

However, the Ugandan CDF strongly refuted the remarks.

Muhoozi who is also Uganda’s first son said that he never posted on social media for the first 20 years of his service in the Uganda military.

He added that the day his father strips him of the position he holds, no one will ever see him on the social platform post again.

“I don't agree with this point of view. I never posted anything for the first 20 years of my life in the military. I started posting regularly only 7 years ago after I was appointed SPA/SO. In that position, if I am not commenting on socio-political and economic issues, I'm not doing my job. So as SPA/SO it's absolutely professional for me to post all the time. The day Mzee takes that position from me you'll never see me on Twitter/ X again,” Muhoozi said.

Over the last few years, Muhoozi has been posting remarks about Uganda, its political situation and those in neighbouring countries.

At one point he talked about invading Kenya, as well as his ambitions to succeed his father.

Some of his comments have been deemed highly controversial but this has not stopped him from making more posts.
