DJ Rimshot

A popular gospel disc jockey, Rimshot Jackson, has joined the race for the Nairobi County assembly speaker.

Rimshot will flex muscles with a strong field of 13 contestants who include outgoing speaker Bernard Mutura and former deputy speaker Ken Ng’ondi.

Ng’ondi and Mutura will be flying the Azimio la Umoja and Kenya Kwanza flags respectively in the elections slated for September 21.

Rimshot's political journey began in the just concluded general elections where he independently vied for the Central ward MCA in Nairobi.

He lost to Mwaniki Kwenya of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

“I have been engaged in leadership roles, motivational speaking, marketing, branding, content creation, photo manipulation, and illustrations,” Rimshot said.

“These have been very pivotal in sharpening my leadership skills, communication, and teamwork which are important in holding leadership positions,” he added.

A former DJ and marketing executive at Kass TV, Rimshot draws a lot of inspiration from President William Ruto who rose from being a chicken seller to a Head of State.
