I pledge to tirelessly work in supporting you deliver the plan to achieve greatness for our republic, Hussein Mohammed has said.
Hussein who was appointed State house spokesman by president William Ruto registered his happiness on Twitter on Saturday.
"Mr President, I’m grateful & humbled by the honour you have bestowed upon me to serve as StateHouse Spokesperson," he said.
"I pledge to tirelessly work. Thanks patriots for your congratulatory messages."
Hussein, who was the spokesperson of Ruto's Presidential campaigns, takes over from Kanze Dena who served under retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In major appointments affecting the President's communication team, president William Ruto named his longtime press officer David Mugonyi the head of the revamped Presidential Communication Service.
Ruto also made other key appointments, naming former MP Katoo Ole Metito the new State House Comptroller.
Metito, who unsuccessfully ran for Kajiado governor on the United Democratic Alliance ticket, will take over from Kinuthia Mbugua.
