Former Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu has been appointed as Chairperson of the board of Agricultural Finance Corporation.
Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Mithika Linturi made the announcements via a gazette notice dated November 18, 2022
"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (2) and 4 (3) of the Agricultural Finance Corporation Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development appoints John Mruttu to be a member and Chairperson of the Board of the Agricultural Finance Corporation," the statement read.
He will serve for a period of three years.
Mruttu is the first governor of Taita Taveta county, elected in 2013 and lost reelection in 2017 to Granton Samboja.
Before getting into politics, Mruttu was the CEO of Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited.
