"Nimepigia subcounty director ako hapa, nikaamua niwaite tu wazazi mkuje kuliuko kila mzazi anapigie simu," Wanyama said.

This loosely translates to "I've called the subcounty director who is here and I decided to call all the parents, as each kept calling."

Wanyama said he also had a child who sat the national examination from the institution but cannot send his results as they are shockingly low.

"Ata pia mimi nimekua mzazi, mtoto wangu amepata 334, mtoto mwenye alijua amechagua shule kama Maranda. Ata sijamtumia matokeo kwa sababu unatuma aje. Maswali niko nayo mengi," the emotional headteacher said.

This loosely translates to "I'm also a parent and my child has gotten 334. A child who chose a school like Maranda. How can I send him such results? I have a lot of questions."

The same county also produced the top student nationally in the exam.

Robinson Fwaro, 14, from Christ the King Primary School in Kanduyi constituency, Bungoma county scored 431 marks in the 2022 KCPE.
