Quiver Lounge head of marketing and public relations Fiona Maureen however said there wasn't a fire at the premises as claimed.

"Most people have travelled upcountry for the Christmas festivities and we've enjoyed serving clients we get," she said.

When the firefighters called back for more details, the reporter claimed the DJ had pronounced the house on fire before he made the report.

But Fiona downplayed the claims saying DJs often make such pronouncements whenever music and dance have climaxed for revellers to enjoy themselves.

"That doesn't mean the premises are literally on fire," she said.
