Public Service and Gender CS Aisha Jumwa made a familiarisation tour of NYS headquarters in Nairobi on Friday.
NYS is currently domiciled in the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action following the restructuring of ministries by President William Ruto.
It was previously under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and the Arts.
During her maiden visit, Jumwa held talks with director general Matilda Sakwa.
Other council officials were also present during the meeting.
In her address, the CS committed to strengthening and initiating progressive policies, legal and institutional reforms as well as programs and projects that will guarantee greater efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability in the management of NYS.
"I envision a transformed NYS, a service that will be an enabler and driver of the Kenya Kwanza government manifesto, Vision 2030 and other development agendas by harnessing the energy of our youth for the prosperity of our nation," she said.
"NYS has evolved from one that evokes doubt to one that inspires hope and admiration."
