Magistrates, lawyers and litigants have avoided the area as demonstrations take centre stage within the surroundings.

Some stones were thrown inside the court premises and tear gas effects can be felt inside the courtrooms. Although the court is well guarded by some police officers.

Last Monday, it was difficult for a magistrate to continue hearing cases as the tear gas smoke was felt throughout the courtroom.

All the roads are blocked by demos and the tyres have been lit almost everywhere.

So far significant cases were pushed forward as the environment was not conducive for proceedings.

“We cannot do cases where insecurity thrives, already judicial officers who visit this court on demo days are prone to attacks, as you can see the youths have already barricaded the roads, where will a magistrate pass through when needed, " a lawyer said.
