According to a notice in the local dailies, the varsity logo will capture its mandate as the University’s primary visual communication tool.

"The logo must appear in a professional manner, unencumbered by and set apart from additional graphics, images and text," the notice reads.

The notice was signed by the Head, of Supply Chain Management Services on behalf of PS Beatrice Inyangala.

Applicants are expected to deliver the logos in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Open University of Kenya Logo Design Competition”.

"They should be submitted on or before April 4 and dropped in the tender box situated at Jogoo House ‘B’ 9th Floor," the notice reads.

The selected winning logos will be awarded Sh300,000, the first runners-up Sh200,000 and the second runners-up Sh100,000.

Further, the department explained that the logo should have gold, white and teal colours and should look good in black and white as well.

"The competitors ought to accompany logo with a brief written description of all applied features, connotations and such significant inspiration," the notice reads.

The university will offer eight online courses.
