United States Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman has described the August 9 general elections as the most transparent in the history of the country.

She said she has been super impressed with Kenya following the  elections

"Kenya held free, fair and most transparent elections in the country's history this past August," she said.

She described President William Ruto as a very strong, smart, strategic leader who gets things done.

"He is hands-on and easy to work with. He understands that economic growth and development is the way forward and has set a vision for accelerating Kenya's drive to achieve upper middle-income country status by 2030," Whiteman said.

She added that Ruto has also been very instrumental in fostering peace and security in the region.

Whitman said Kenya is by far the most stable and business-friendly country in Africa.

This is despite the ongoing anti-government demonstrations conducted by the opposition on Monday and Thursday.

The demos are led by Azimio chief Raila Odinga who insists that his victory was stolen in the August 9 general elections.

Speaking last Thursday, Raila said all they want is for the truth to come out on what really happened in the elections.
