United States of America Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whiteman has heaped praise on President William Ruto describing him as a hand-on individual. 

Whiteman described the president as a strong, strategic and smart man. 

" The new President, William Ruto, is very strong. He is smart, strategic, and gets things done,"  she said. 

The Ambassador said Ruto is hands-on when performing his duties adding that he is also easy to work with. 

" He understands that economic growth and development is the way forward and has set a vision for accelerating Kenya's drive to achieve upper middle-income country status by 2030," she said. 

The Ambassador noted all these in a letter inviting entrepreneurs to attend the American Chamber of Commerce Regional Business Summit being held in Nairobi from March 29 to 30. 

She described the Cabinet team appointed by the Head of State as strong and said Ruto is undertaking policy reforms to improve the business environment in the country. 

Whiteman said Ruto has also been key in promoting peace and security in East Africa. 

"He has also been instrumental in fostering peace and security in the region," Whiteman said.  

The Ambassador said she is super impressed with Kenya in regards to how the August 9 elections were conducted. 

" It ( Kenya )  held the freest, fairest, and most transparent elections in the country's history this past August," she said.
