Saitabao Kanchory has said Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka's decision to boycott the 2017 repeat election was their worst political move.

The former Azimio la Umoja chief agent in his book Why Baba is not the 5th says it would have been fairly easy to beat Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto in a repeat election as the surprise nullification had thrown them and their support base into disarray.

"Like many supporters of the then National Super Alliance, the political outfit through which Raila and Kalonzo ran in 2017— I was bewildered by the nonsensical decision to boycott the repeat election," Kanchory wrote.

The lawyer, further deeply analysed that from a power perspective, it was the most foolish thing the two could ever do.

He went on to narrate that the duo boycotted the 2017 repeat election because they could not trust the Wafula Chebukati-led IEBC to run a free and fair election.

"It becomes bizarrely puzzling how just five years later, Raila would blindly lead Kenyans down the same path," Kanchory stated.

"It is even more bewildering why this many-times-beaten and highly experienced politician would throw all caution to the wind and disregard clear tell-tale signs pointing to a repeat of the 2017 scenario or worse."
