Kenneth Chelule Langat has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Special Economic Zones Authority.
Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria announced the appointment through a gazette notice on Wednesday.
"It is notified for the general information of the public that the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zones Authority has appointed Kenneth Chelule Langat as the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority," the gazette notice read in part.
Kuria said Chelule's appointment will be for a period of three years.
Chelule's tenure started on April 21 this year.
He has been serving in an acting capacity as the Board CEO before his appointment.
Before joining SEZA as the Director of Partnership, Strategy, Research, and Resource Mobilization, Chelule was the Chief Research Scientist and Deputy Director at the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI).
SEZA is mandated to attract, facilitate and retain domestic and foreign direct investments in Special Economic Zones.
The authority exists to create an enabling environment for investors to do business.
