Heavy rains have hindered the operations in the horrific Shakahola grave scene today forcing homicide detectives to suspend the exhuming of bodies and rescue operations.

All the gravediggers and officers did not get into the scenes since morning as it was raining heavily.

Currently,  senior government officials including Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro are waiting for Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.

He is expected in Shakahola again less than a week after he came to witness the exhuming of bodies.

The CS will oversee the search operation, as the government speeds up the search and rescue operation in the 800-acre land.

So far 108 bodies have been exhumed.
