Governance and political analyst Kipruto Arap Kirwa has challenged the security teams to up their game in protecting the lives of Kenyans.
Speaking on KTN news on Friday Kirwa said a lot of billions is poured into the security docket as part of the measures hence the National Intelligence Service can tell every activity happening in the country.
He said the NIS formerly known as the Special Branch was meant to give every report on every sublocation in the country.
The reports which would include what happens in every church would then be synthesized by the state organs to identify trouble areas.
“It worries me that many Kenyans can die. For this to have happened in Kilifi, whether it is Ezekiel or Mackenzie is a demonstration that the state machinery needs to reawaken itself and to do something more than they have been doing,” he said.
“Otherwise there is no need for us to be spending billions of shillings under the guise of state security.”
On Thursday, the Christian Health Association of Kenya called on Kenyans to ignore theories of faith healing that tend to ignore science.
The association secretary general Samuel Mwenda also called upon the relevant government agencies to intervene and bring the culprits in the Shakahola deaths to book.
“We discourage the idea of any group or individual who preaches against access to healthcare. We call upon members of the public to be modest and not to be brainwashed,” Mwenda said.
This comes even as the government began conducting a postmortem on the bodies exhumed from the Shakahola forest.
The total number of exhumed bodies has so far surpassed 105 as per police reports.
