Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua defended fellow Azimio leaders after their no show during Tuesday anti-government protests.
Karua said the police were stationed in all parts of the Nairobi Metropolis and City Centre at the break of dawn to prevent them from enagaging in peaceful protest.
"The police that were unleashed prevented us from proceeding with our planned protests," she said.
"Unfortunately, because of the mayhem, we could not present our four petitions as planned."
Karua also said on Monday night, the security personnel of the Azimio leaders were withdrawn.
"This is illegal, all Members of Parliament who support Azimio had their security withdrawn. They are setting stage for assassination plot," she added.
She also alleged that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Trade CS Moses Kuria hired goons to cause chaos during the protest.
The Narc Kenya leader said the goons had a meeting with the two leaders and were instructed to cause chaos, which would be blamed on the Azimio la Umoja team.
"Hooligans were hired to cause mayhem and destroy properties, we are aware they were acting under the command of Gachagua and Kuria. They were recruited at a meeting in Thika a few days ago, and were ferried to Nairobi last night," she said.
