28 Kenyans graduate at Grand Canyon University, USA

After the end of their studies some were lucky to get permanent residency status.

Some Kenyan students who moved to study at Grand Canyon University, USA, graduated on Thursday at a colourful ceremony.

Twenty-eight students who were degrees in medical-related fields with a majority of them doing nursing at the university.

After the end of their studies, some were lucky to get permanent residency status in the US while others decided to return to Kenya.

Medical-related courses are considered the most lucrative and marketable in the United States.

Since 1949, Grand Canyon University has been a premier private university in Arizona.

The university has been helping students find their purpose and achieve their potential by landing the career of their dreams, advancing their careers, and changing careers.

As a Christian university, GCU also encourages students to find their purpose in Christ, with an emphasis on applying Christian values and ethics to the workplace.

The graduating class included those who completed their degrees in Summer 2022, Fall 2022 and projected graduates from Spring 2023.

Overall, a total of 29,116 students graduated.

Out of this, 26.1 per cent of the graduates on the Phoenix campus were first-generation college students.

Of those, 46 per cent were Hispanic.

Of all graduates, 15,287 completed their undergraduate degree and 13,829 were graduate students earning master’s or doctoral degrees.

Some 4,890 were traditional students taking classes on the Phoenix campus, while 24,226 studied online.

The Honors College had 514 graduates, bringing the total to more than 2,000 since the college’s inception in 2013.
