Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has said the party cannot stand alone in Parliament as it belongs to the Azimio La Umoja -One Kenya coalition.

Kioni said that the Constitution of Kenya only talks about Minority and Majority.

"You either belong to the Minority or Majority," he said.

The embattled party, which supported Raila Odinga for the 2022 presidential race, has faced several backlashes from different members who are passive to have shifted camps to the Kenya Kwanza's government.

The position of the secretary general is now being battled between Kioni and  EALA MP Kanini Kega.

Nominated MP Sabina Chege, on the other hand, was named the party leader to replace retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Amid the wrangles, the party leaders allied to Uhuru have maintained that the National Delegates Conference (NDC) will proceed as planned.

"I will be chairing the meeting and he (Uhuru) will only be coming to endorse what we have agreed on," said Kioni.

The party, he argued, belongs to the people hence the NDC will proceed regardless of a suit seeking to stop it.

"This is not a matter of Uhuru Kenyatta, it is the members and that is why we are saying let us fight for it," he added.
