Nairobi county distributes medical supplies to health facilities

Health chief officer Geoffrey Mosiria said this is aimed at enhancing delivery of services to city residents.

Nairobi County Chief Officer of Health Geoffrey Mosiria has said Governor Johnson Sakaja's administration will enhance the delivery of medical supplies to city health facilities.

The officer said Sakaja's government will continue to ensure that all its health facilities are well equipped with both supplies, equipment and personnel for quality service delivery.

Speaking when he delivered medical supplies to Kayole 2 Health Centre, Mosiria reiterated Sakaja's commitment to have Nairobi residents access medical care effectively and efficiently.

The medical supplies delivered on Monday will be distributed to all facilities within Embakasi East, South and West Sub Counties.

"This is an affirmation of Governor Sakaja's agenda to ensure that residents access affordable medical care within facilities that are closer to them without having to travel long distances," Mosiria said.

The officer said the department has scaled up its operations to distribute drugs in all facilities within Nairobi even as he urged medics and other health workers to remain committed to serving residents.

"We will continue to do our part under the leadership of our boss Governor Sakaja to equip facilities with both drugs and manpower to be able to offer world-class medical care accessibly and affordably," said Mosiria.

During the distribution of drugs on Monday, Mosiria was accompanied a host by of MCAs including Collins Ogenga(Kayole South), Chris Mutumish( Komarock), Wachira Wairia(Kayole North ward), Koria Matopeni (Spring Valley ward)and Mbatia Karibangi of Uhuru ward.

The members of the county assembly lauded Sakaja's service delivery plan saying going forward the residents of Nairobi will have the best that the county can offer in different sectors including health.

They thanked Mosiria for remaining at the front in championing for the governor's agenda to transform healthcare in Nairobi.

The county government has accelerated its plan to improve health facilities across the county with a mega approach that premises the delivery of services on access to drugs, equipment and medics.
