Nairobi County Government has stepped up efforts to stock all its health facilities with drugs to ensure seamless service delivery to residents.

Chief officer in charge of Health Services Geoffrey Mosiria, who is leading Governor Johnson Sakaja's team in the exercise, said no facility will be left without adequate s of essential supplies.

Speaking when he delivered an assorted drugs and other supplies to the Westlands Health Centre, Mosiria stressed Sakaja's vision for quality, affordable and accessible medical care for Nairobians.

The officer said that over the last months, the county has ensured that patients who seek medical attention at city facilities receive timely and affordable care in line with the governor's vision.

''As directed by the governor, we have spared no effort to stock all our health facilities across the county with essential drugs and and equipment as well as personnel,'' Mosiria said.

''Every other time, we are busy on the ground to improve how our citizens access medical care by easing the pressure that comes with the demand for drugs, screening and testing.''

Mosiria has been touring city health facilities delivering medical supplies to make sure that patients seeking medical care do not have to be referred to expensive private hospitals for lack of drugs.

He has also intensified impromptu visits to inspect deployment of human resources in the facilities as he leads Sakaja's drive to position public facilities as premier destinations for all cadres of citizens.

''Our staff have clear instructions on what the governor's vision is and what is expected of them to improve the level of services to our clients who walk in every minute in pursuit of life,'' Mosiria said.

During the visits, Mosiria is accompanied by Members of the County Assemblies from the respective wards, signifying the close working relationship that exists between the assembly and the executive.

On Friday, he was accompanied to Westlands by area MCA Stephen Gitau Ndegwa who pledged his support for the county administration.

The MCA said he will support the governor’s agenda irrespective of him being from ODM, saying ''development is not about a party but what the residents of Nairobi chose us to do.''

The scaled up surveillance and stocking of hospitals come at a time when Sakaja's administration has upgraded key city facilities like Mama Lucy, Mbagathi and Pumwani with state-of-the-art equipment to enhance service delivery.
