Azimio politicians have intensified calls for mass action over the high cost of living.

Speaking at Kamkunji Grounds where the Opposition had convened a 'consultative' meeting with the people, the politicians said maandamano is the only language the government understands.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna regretted that the Kenya Kwanza administration has not shown willingness to address the concerns of the people.

"It seems the only language they understand is the language of the streets. We will have to go to the streets to demonstrate since they do not want to listen to the people," he said.

"Life has become unbearable and we will die. However, we will not die in our houses but on the streets protesting."

Present were lawmakers Anthony Oluoch, Beatrice Ogolla, Beth Siengo, Otiende Amollo, Millie Odhiambo, Tim Wanyonyi, Babu Owino, Godfrey Osotsi, Enoch Wambua, and a host of ward representatives.

Wambua said efforts by Azimio to ensure the concerns of the people are addressed through Parliament have not been successful.

"President Ruto has pocketed some Azimio. Those who have crossed over should relinquish their positions and seek fresh mandate through the ballot," he said.

Senate Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo said "promiscuous" politicians should face a by-election.

He said lawmakers who are friendly to the Ruto administration are not needed in Azimio.
