Kasarani residents walk with dead man to hospital, abandon body

Police are investigating an incident in which a section of residents of the Sunton area, Kasarani, Nairobi took a bleeding man to a hospital and abandoned him at the waiting bay.

Attendants at the Chieko Medical Centre told police a group of about ten walked into the facility on June 29 at about 10 pm with a man who had fresh stab wounds in the chest.

The victim was unresponsive and bleeding.

And as the nurses on duty attended to the victim, the group vanished from the scene.

Police were called to the scene and confirmed the man was dead. He had an identification card bearing the name of Hebronia Atembekhwa and was aged 20.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe. No arrest has been made so far.

Elsewhere in Nyeri, police are looking for a man who assaulted his wife leading to her death.

Police said they are investigating murder in respect to the death of Wanjiku Ngugi, 37 at the PGH Hospital following an assault a month ago.

The woman has been nursing wounds at the hospital until June 27 when she succumbed.

Police said they had received a complaint of domestic violence and the accused is still at large.

The body of the woman and mother of two was moved to the mortuary pending further probe.
