Lawyer Miguna Miguna has scoffed at the new attempt by the Opposition to kick out President William Ruto from power.

Reacting over the planned signature collection drive, Miguna said the President can never be removed from office based on this.

"You cannot have a referendum based on 10 million signatures, even if you manage to collect them," he said.

The lawyer instead asked the Azimio leader Raila Odinga who is the proponent to give up and accept he has no pathway to power.

"Another Kenyan will take up the role you have failed to effectively perform in the past 45 years," he said.

Azimio's leadership seeks to collect 10 million signatures which Raila said is to show dissatisfaction with the leadership of President William Ruto.

"The people have started the process of taking back the power given to people to represent them. We have to know how many we are and that is why we have started collecting signatures," he said on Friday at the Kamukunji grounds.

He said the people have the power to choose who can represent them.

The Opposition is protesting over the high cost of living and high taxes imposed on Kenyans by the recently passed Finance Act.
