National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah has called for the withdrawal of government vehicles of Azimio Leader Raila Odinga and Former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in Nakuru during the launch of the Njabini-Naivasha Road, Ichung'wah called on President Ruto to confiscate the vehicles alleging that they were being used during the anti-government protests that have rocked the country.

"Rais huyu mtu anatumia magari ya serikali, hiyo magari chukua. Akitaka gari ipigwe mawe ipigwe yake," Ichung'wah said.

The Kikuyu lawmaker further claimed that Uhuru Kenyatta took vehicles from the State House at the end of his term and called on President Ruto to repossess the said vehicles.

"Ata zile Uhuru Kenyatta amechukua magari zote State Hous akaenda nayo, Mimi naona pia hizo zichukuliwe," Ichung'wah said.

He went on to accuse Uhuru Kenyatta of funding the ongoing protests alleging that he was using the protests to intimidate him.

"Uhuru Kenyatta I want to tell you today, you can no longer ride on our backs, on the blood of innocent Kenyans to undermine a legitimate government," he said.

His remarks come a day after Azimio Leader Raila Odinga called for Nationwide antigovernment protests on Wednesday next week over the rising high cost of living.

While announcing the resumption of the demonstrations next week, Raila on Thursday said they were not going to relent.

"We will have countrywide protests next week on Wednesday whether the government likes it or not," he said.

According to Azimio, the protests are aimed at getting President William Ruto to lower the cost of living and repeal the Finance Act 2023.

The Act was suspended by the High Court and the decision was upheld on July 10, pending further directions.
