Belgut MP Nelson Koech now says they intend to push the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to probe former President Uhuru Kenyatta over claims he is financing Azimio protests.

Koech said they have already obtained information and intend to forward it to investigating agencies for action.

Koech, who is the National Assembly's Defence Committee chairperson, spoke on Monday in an interview with Citizen TV.

Uhuru has continuously come under attacks from the Kenya Kwanza administration over his alleged involvement in the ongoing demonstrations.

Speaking in Nakuru, President Ruto went flat out against his former boss warning him of consequences  for allegedly supporting Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

“Nataka nimwambie rafiki yangu Uhuru, ata wewe wachana na huyu mzee (Raila). Wacha kumpatia pesa ya kununua watu wa Mungiki wachome Nairobi, wewe umekuwa rais, kuwa mungwana, tulikuunga mkono wakati ulikuwa rais wetu, uliunga mtu wa kitendawili mkono tukamwangusha, wachana na yeye,” he said.

"Usipowachana na yeye, ata wewe tutakusafirisha na huyo kitendawili wako".

Uhuru has, however, not responded to the allegations.

Azimio leaders have been on Uhuru's defence warning Kenya Kwanza against dragging him into their fights.

Kathiani MP Robert Mbui told leaders to respect him in his retirement.
