Lawyer PLO Lumumba has called on Kenyans to put to an end decisive politics anchored on tribal lines.

Speaking on KBC Radio on Tuesday, the lawyer said it is time for Kenyans to ask themselves hard questions including the benefits accrued when they take part in the protests.

Lumumba said recent protests have led to massive destruction of property, loss of lives and the emergence of tribal unrest in places that were previously experiencing peace.

“After every protest, those who took loans from banks have lost property. At the end of the day the politicians retire to their palatial homes, eat well and announce the next date for protests,” he said.

He said should the situation get out of hand, the same politicians will fly out of the country and leave poor Kenyans to bear the brunt.

"Fellow Kenyans it is time to ask ourselves tough questions. If this country collapses it will take years to come together yet some of these politicians will run to other countries and you the poor ones will remain here,” he said.

Lumumba said the protests are uncalled for noting that the court has suspended the implementation of the Finance Bill which was the main issue of contention.

The Opposition has called for street protests on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as it ramps up its resistance against President William Ruto's government.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki however warned the Opposition over its plan to demonstrate for three days.
