President William Ruto has hit out at Azimio leaders for planning anti-government protests.

Speaking in Vihiga on Saturday, Ruto dared Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to recall their children from the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) to take lead the protests.

He noted that it was uncalled for to have other people’s children in the forefront of the protests, yet the children of those planning the protests are not part of it.

“Those who are planning protests should stop it. If they want protests they should first recall their children who are in the EALA and put their wives and children in the frontline of the protests,” he said.

“Waweke bibi zao na watoto mbele ya maandamano. Wasitumie watoto na familia ya watu wengine kufanya maandamano na watoto wao wako nyumbani, hiyo ni upuzi,” he added

The President insisted that Kenya is a democratic and peaceful country and that each Kenyan wants the opportunity to do their business and other things that will change their lives.

He said the protests that have rocked the country in the recent days have led to destruction of property, unrest and shedding of innocent blood.

He further emphasised that time for politics was over and urged those who lost to wait for 2027.
