A one-year-old child was crushed to death at a parking lot in Dandora area, Nairobi.

Police said the driver of a lorry was reversing the motor vehicle from the parking lot.

The child was wandering behind the lorry and the driver did not know when he arrived to start it and leave.

The body of the boy was moved to the Mama Lucy hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination while the lorry was detained for inspection.

Man collapses while queuing for funds 

A man aged 85 collapsed and died as he waited to receive his Inua Jamii funds in Lodwar, Turkana.

Officials said Natoot Kpsopir Esinyen had walked from his home in Nasinger, which is about 20 kilometers away to come and collect his Inua Jamii funds when he collapsed under a shade outside an office.

He was rushed to Lodwar County Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Contractor robbed Sh1 million 

Detectives are hunting down a gang that attacked a Chinese manager at a construction site in Kiambu and robbed him of Sh1.1 million that was meant for casual workers.

The incident happened on July 31 at about 11 am in Kahoya area where China Estate Construction company has a base.

According to police and witnesses, He Zhi Qiang, 41, was at the site, preparing to pay workers when he was accosted by a gang of two men armed with machetes.

The men robbed him of the cash meant for the workers and his passport at the site office.

Body dumped in a sewer 

A suspect was arrested after he used a claw hammer to kill a man during a fight in Majengo slums, Nairobi.

The body of the man identified as Samuel was Tuesday found in a sewer line after the murder. It had an injury in the head, police said.

Police pursued a suspect and found him with a claw hammer that he used in attacking the victim.

Police plan to charge him with murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other processes

Man chops brother's hand

Police are looking for a man who chopped his brother’s hand in a fight over land in a village in Meru County.

The incident happened in Kaurinene village in Antuambui location, Igembe area, and involved two brothers.

Police who visited the scene said they found one Moris Murithi with a severed right hand.

His assailant had escaped the scene. The victim was rushed to hospital and admitted in serious condition.

He also had a deep cut on his head by the time he was taken to hospital, police said.

Witnesses said the two engaged in a physical fight before the assailant attacked the victim in the wrist area chopping it.
