We've stopped importation of milk products – Ruto

The President further said that taxes on animal feeds will be scraped.

President William Ruto has said the government is stopping the importation of milk from other countries.

"We have stopped the importation of milk from other countries. This issue is stopped so that the locally produced milk can now be put to use," he said.

Ruto spoke on Monday in Nyeri where he interacted with Mukurwe-ini milk farmers.

He got direct feedback from dairy farmers in the area who also agreed to the move saying it will favour them.

President Ruto further said that taxes on animal feeds will be scraped.

President William Ruto embarked on a five-day working tour of the entire Mt Kenya region where he is expected to launch several development projects.

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Friday highlighted the projects which he said are in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda.
