As the bipartisan talks kicked off on Wednesday, Kileleshwa Member of the County Assembly(MCA) Robert Alai hit out at Azimio leaders over their display of opulence.

The MCA, who lately has been very critical of Azimio leaders, claimed that it was morally wrong for some opposition representatives to arrive in high-end cars when talking about issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.

He particularly took issue with Azimio's head of delegation and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who arrived in Lexus LX570 with Tanzanian registration numbers.

"Our leaders need to learn the art of simplicity. Why do we arrive in LX570 for talks about Wananchi? We miss PR every time. @skmusyoka can we do better? Let’s do Uber or your good old Nissan Patrol. Please!," Alai tweeted.

Video shared showed leaders arriving at Bomas of Kenya in different styles with some being driven in the latest to-of-range cars.

The outcome of the bipartisan talks would be expected to fix the country's challenges including electoral reforms.

In his opening remarks, Musyoka said they will respect the dignity of all participants, the Constitution and the rule of law.

"We will not negotiate for any form of power-sharing. We will also not put the interest of any of our leaders ahead of the interest of Kenyans," he said.
