Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that his boss William Ruto will easily win a second term in 2027.

The DP, who spoke in Busia County on Saturday, said Ruto will romp to power again the way he did in 2022 because of his solid credentials.

He urged the people of Western Kenya to join hands with the Kenya Kwanza administration and ignore the opposition which he said has failed several times to form government.

''I can see that you have some network, if our president defeated Uhuru who was with the chiefs and police in 2022, do you think he can lose in 2027? It will be a walkover,'' he said.

Speaking during a stopover rally in Busia town, Gachagua told the region to abandon opposition leader Raila Odinga and back the government for the development of the nation.

''The future of this country is in Ruto, the other side is full of darkness,'' the DP said.

Gachagua thanked Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly speaker Moses Wetang'ula for 'seeing light and crossing over to Ruto'' ahead of 2022 polls.

''We thank Musalia and Wetang'ula for seeing light and crossing over to work with Ruto. Now Musalia is the prime minister and Wetang'ula the Speaker of the National Assembly,'' he said.

Western Kenya is perceived to be Raila's key stronghold with Kenya Kwanza determined to turn the tables on him ahead of the 2027 polls.
