Operation Linda Ugatuzi (OLU) claims it has insider information that the Friday power blackout that rocked the country was well-planned. 

The lobby also alleges that the sacking of the KAA boss Alex Gitari was to cover up on some consignment that was being smuggled into the country, adding that there were several planes that continued to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport even as the blackout continued. 

"It is foolhardy to believe that JKIA with its importance will lack a working stand-in generator while small places like Kinyozi’s, Restaurants, and bars remained alive even during the blackout," the lobby alleged. 

"We have insider information regarding the fact that the power blackout was well planned and well executed."

Further, the lobby now wants the management of JKIA to release documents showing the inventory of all arrivals of the passenger planes at the airport on  August 25, 2023, during the power outage. 

It also wants the inventory of all arrivals of all the cargo planes at the JKIA during the power outage. 

"We are compelled to request from you a manifest of the inventory of all the departures of passenger plane(s) from the JKIA and that of all the departures of cargo planes from the JKIA on August 25, 2023," the lobby demanded. 

"A manifest of the passengers who flew into the country during the power outage."

The lobby, led by Fred Ogola says if JKIA fails to provide the information with documents as requested, they shall go to the High court to demand the same.
