"We expect the oversight role to be done by Azimio but the last time what we saw is that Ababu Namwamba was getting a lot of defence from Azimio. It is us the members of Kenya Kwanza who were telling Namwamba he was doing things wrongly in the ministry," Ruku said.

The MP added that it was the Kenya Kwanza MPs who were calling on President William Ruto to dismiss Namwamba.

Ruku said MPs from Azimio were defending Namwamba saying the minister had not been given enough time to transform his docket.

"We are going to do our job for oversight without favour, fear or ill will."

He said MPs have called ministers before to answer queries before parliament.

Ruku said the CSs were told they would not get any defence from the Kenya Kwanza MPs when called to appear before parliament.

"If you are incompetent, if you are not doing your duty properly, we will tell the President to sack you and get another minister," Ruku said.

He said the MPs have been firm on all the cabinet secretaries that have appeared before Parliament.

Ruku said the MPs will continue to oversee the CSs on behalf of the government.

Namwamba appeared before Parliament on August 23 and refuted claims that he had been mismanaging athletes' affairs in his ministry.
