EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak has urged the media to partner with the Commission in the fight against corruption.

Mbarak said the media was in a better place to help the anti-graft agency, considering its role in the country.

"Give us support in terms of coverage. Do not just praise us. Critic us," Mbarak said addressing the press at Stanley Hotel on Wednesday.

"They say akupendaye hukwambia ukweli."

He said the Commission was focusing on various ways in the fight, including enforcing the anti-corruption laws on big cases as opposed to small cases.

Clarifying this, Mbarak said they have at times received reports of corruption allegations involving persons demanding as little as Sh200.

These, he added, are small cases compared to the reports of corruption in the traffic section or in the public offices.

He added that they were also focusing on asset recovery, which the media can help through investigative reporting.

Further, the EACC is also focusing on lifestyle auditing.

This is roughly, a study of a person's living standards of an individual to see if it is consistent with their reported income.

"Please help us with the coverage," Mbarak said.
